Student Affairs Scholarships

The Division of Student Affairs awards many scholarships each year based on a wide array of qualifications and interests. Criteria include academics, financial need, interests, goals, organizational involvement, etc. Most scholarships are one-year awards, and all current and prospective students are encouraged to apply each year. Most Student Affairs scholarships are awarded through a common application in Academic Works (see How to Apply). *These Student Affairs scholarships open in Academic Works January 1, 2025 – February 15, 2025. Funds will only be released to student accounts after all required acceptance materials are received. *ALL applicants who are U.S. citizens are requested to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible each year.

A few additional opportunities are awarded through a different application process (see Other Student Affairs Scholarship Opportunities). 

 

 

How to Apply:

The Division of Student Affairs scholarship application period is open Jan. 1, 2025 – Feb. 15, 2025. All current students, incoming freshmen, and incoming transfer students are encouraged to apply. Incoming students must be admitted to the University of Arkansas and have activated their account to access the application. 

Application Instructions for Current U of A Students, New Freshmen, and New Transfers:

  • Login to Academic Works using your University of Arkansas credentials
  • Username: the characters before the @uark.edu in your UA email
  • Password: the same one used to login to your UA email and UAConnect
  • Complete/submit the General Application before Feb. 15, 11:59 p.m. CST
  • Complete/submit Division of Student Affairs Application(s) by Feb. 15, 11:59 p.m. CST
  • The Division of Student Affairs application(s) will only be recommended to you after you have entered at least your UA ID number and saved the General Application.
  • Complete/submit any other available application(s) for which you would like to be considered for funding by Feb. 15, 11:59 p.m. CST


ALL students completing Student Affairs scholarship applications are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible.

 

How to Accept:

  • Scholarship award notifications (including offer details and acceptance requirements) will be sent to the student’s University of Arkansas email account.

NOTE: Funds will only be released to student accounts after all required acceptance materials are received.

 

Student Affairs Scholarships:

 

Bryce Morgan Scholarship

The Bryce Morgan Scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate whose racial, ethnic, cultural and/or geographic background, or whose experiences or interests, contribute to the diversity of the student body.

The Bryce Morgan Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Students from underrepresented ethnic or minority groups
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student with the intent to enter a helping profession such as teaching, sociology, social justice, psychology, counseling, healthcare, or related field


Coca-Cola Foundation Scholarship

The Coca-Cola Foundation Scholarship is awarded to University of Arkansas students from underrepresented communities who have demonstrated outstanding academic leadership qualities and potential.

The Coca-Cola Foundation Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Students from underrepresented ethnic or minority groups and/or;
  • First generation college students (neither parent has completed a college degree)


Gordon Morgan Scholarship

The Gordon Morgan Scholarship is funded by the Morgan Family Foundation and is awarded annually to an undergraduate student whose racial, ethnic, cultural and/or geographical background, or experiences or interests, contribute to the diversity of the student body. Applicants MUST be current students with a 2.75 cumulative GPA or higher to be considered for this scholarship.

The Gordon Morgan Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA 
  • Students from underrepresented ethnic or minority groups
  • Awarded to an undergraduate student currently enrolled at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville


Jeffery S. Mullen Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Jeffery S. Mullen Scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen from east Arkansas who are pursuing a major in a health care related field.

The Jeffery S. Mullen Memorial Endowed Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 3.0 high school cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need (must have completed FAFSA on file)
  • An incoming freshman enrolled full time with a desire to pursue a major in a health care related field
  • A student from Eastern Arkansas with a preference to students who are graduates from a high school in Craighead or Crittenden counties in Arkansas

 

Linda K. Overstreet Scholarship

The Linda K. Overstreet Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to a University of Arkansas undergraduate or graduate student with a physical disability, demonstrated financial need and is registered with CEA.

The Linda K. Overstreet Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need (must have completed FAFSA on file)
  • Diagnosed with a physical disability, i.e., Cerebral Palsy, a mobility/orthopedic limitation, hard of hearing/Deaf, visual disability, or a traumatic brain injury
  • Full time enrollment status (minimum of 12 credit hours) or part time enrollment status (minimum of 6 credit hours) for Fall 2024 Semester
  • Registered with the University of Arkansas Center for Educational Access (CEA)


Margaret J. Hoffman Scholarship

The Margaret J. Hoffman Scholarship is awarded to students of federally recognized tribes indigenous to the U.S.

The Margaret J. Hoffman Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Tribal membership card
  • Letter of support from a community leader or faculty member 


Mason McWatters Memorial Scholarship

The Mason McWatters Memorial Scholarship is awarded to federally recognized tribes indigenous to the U.S., including, but not limited to membership in the Quapaw Tribe.

The Mason McWatters Memorial Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Applicants must be a junior or senior for the Fall 2024 term
  • Tribal membership card
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental sciences, sustainability, or related field

 

Michelle Wilson Endowed Scholarship

The Michelle Wilson Endowed Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to a University of Arkansas undergraduate student who is succeeding on campus and contributing to a diverse educational environment.

The Michelle Wilson Endowed Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Must be enrolled full time and in good academic standing
  • Demonstrated contribution to the diverse educational environment at the University of Arkansas

 

Nola Holt Royster Scholarship

The Nola Holt Royster Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to an undergraduate student in their final year of study with demonstrated financial need and criteria listed below.

The Nola Holt Royster Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need (must have completed FAFSA on file)
  • Graduate of an Arkansas High School
  • Currently active in campus activities and/or community involvement
  • Undergraduate student with preference to a student graduating in December 2024 or May 2025
  • Demonstrated contribution to the diverse educational environment at the University of Arkansas

Non-Traditional Student Scholarship

The Off-Campus Student Services Non-Traditional Student Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to an undergraduate non-traditional student with demonstrated financial need and a sincere commitment to completing their first degree.

The Off-Campus Student Services Non-Traditional Student Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need (must have completed FAFSA on file)
  • Arkansas resident
  • Can identify as a non-traditional student, either as age 25 or older, married, divorced, separated, or widowed
  • Current University of Arkansas student seeking first baccalaureate degree (the scholarship is not available to those seeking a second bachelor's or graduate degree)
  • Must be sophomore, junior, or senior in the Fall 2024 semester
  • Full time enrollment status (minimum of 12 credit hours for Fall 2024 semester)
  • Cannot be a full-time University of Arkansas employee


PRIDE in Education Scholarship

The PRIDE in Education Scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis to an undergraduate student with demonstrated financial need, and knowledge of and interest in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) history. 

The PRIDE Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need (must have completed FAFSA on file)
  • Current demonstrated leadership on campus and/or community involvement
  • Undergraduate degree-seeking student
  • At least part time enrollment status (minimum of 6 credit hours for Fall 2024 Semester)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) history and current events

 

Rickey Medlock and Scott Heffington PRIDE in Education Scholarship

The Rickey Medlock and Scott Heffington PRIDE in Education Scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis to an undergraduate student with demonstrated financial need, and knowledge of and interest in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) history. 

The Rickey Medlock and Scott Heffington PRIDE in Education Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need (must have completed FAFSA on file)
  • Current demonstrated leadership on campus and/or community involvement
  • Undergraduate degree-seeking student
  • At least part time enrollment status (minimum of 6 credit hours for Fall 2024 Semester)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) history and current events

 

Steven Carr Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Stephen Carr Memorial Endowed Scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis to students at the University of Arkansas who are pursuing a major in a law enforcement related field with a demonstrated interest in athletics.  

The Stephen Carr Memorial Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria: 

  • Students enrolled full time with a desire to pursue a major in a law enforcement related field, including, but not limited to, criminal justice, criminology, and/or sociology.
  • Demonstrated interest in athletics through participation in high school, junior college, intramural or recreational sports at the University of Arkansas.
  • Demonstrated current University or community on or off-campus leadership experiences and/or work/internship experiences.
  • Recipients must be in good academic standing with at least at 2.75 grade point average.
  • Financial need (has a FASFA on file).

 

Steven Lear Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Steven Lear Memorial Endowed Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to a University of Arkansas undergraduate student with demonstrated financial need.

The Steven Lear Memorial Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need (must have completed FAFSA on file)
  • Preference will be given to students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering

 

Wise Up Endowed Scholarship

The Wise Up Endowed Scholarship will be to provide scholarships to students at the University of Arkansas in accordance with the criteria listed:

  • Must be enrolled full time and in good academic standing
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75
  • Financial need (must have a FASFA on file)
  • Must contribute to the diverse educational environment at the University
    • i.e. membership in an underrepresented ethnic or minority group, being an underrepresented student with a demonstrated interest in a particular field of study, being from an underrepresented county of the state, first generation student or disability.


The Williams Family Scholarship

The Williams Family Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students from an Arkansas High School with high financial need that meet the criteria listed below.

The Williams Family Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.25 cumulative GPA
  • Undergraduate student for Fall 2024 Semester (Sophomore, Junior or Senior) 
  • Pell grant eligible with high financial need (must have FAFSA on file)
  • Graduate of an Arkansas high school
  • Full time enrollment status (minimum of 12 credit hours) for the Fall 2024 Semester
  • Demonstrated current University or community on or off-campus leadership experiences and/or work/internship experiences
  • Demonstrated contribution to the diverse educational environment at the University of Arkansas

Career
Connections Unpaid Internship Scholarship  

Students may apply for this award to participate in an unpaid or a paid internship (i.e. Washington, D.C., or anywhere additional living expenses will be necessary).  

Career Connections Unpaid Internship Scholarship committee will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need (must have completed FAFSA on file)
  • U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Current University of Arkansas student (enrolled in at least 12 hours) and either returning to the U of A the semester following the internship (at least 6 hours) or completing major coursework while completing the internship (NOTE: students participating in an internship following graduation do not qualify)
  • Internship secured prior to applying for the scholarship. Must be able to provide a copy of the internship/co-op offer letter

Henry Woods Student Leadership Award

The Henry Woods Student Leadership Award is presented on a competitive basis to two undergraduate graduating seniors who have demonstrated remarkable student leadership during their time on campus.

The Henry Woods Student Leadership Award will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Current demonstrated leadership on campus
  • Senior graduating in December 2024

Johnetta Cross Brazzell Study Abroad Scholarship

The Johnetta Cross Brazzell Study Abroad Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with financial need. Students may be in-state or out-of-state residents. Summer and semester study abroad programs are eligible.

The Johnetta Cross Brazzell Study Abroad Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need (must have completed FAFSA on file)
  • Minimum sophomore standing (30 hours credit)
  • Among first generation, ethnic minority groups

Veteran & Military-Affiliated Student Center (VMSC) Scholarship

The Veterans & Military-Affiliated Student Center (VMSC) Scholarship is awarded annually to a degree-seeking University of Arkansas student, carrying a 75-100% credit load. 

The VMSC Scholarship will accept applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need (must have FAFSA on file)
  • Veteran or Reserve/National Guard/Active Guard member
  • Enrolled 75-100% for Fall 2024 Semester (9 credits minimum)
