Professional Development
Monthly GA Meetings
Each month, all Student Affairs Graduate Assistants are invited to get together and speak about their GA experience as well as participate in professional development opportunies on campus. Meals during these meetings are provided and invites are sent out through Microsoft Outlook.
Student Affairs Mentor Program
This program pairs GA mentees with Student Affairs mentors to provide support outside of their GA assignment. This will be a relationship for a GA to reach out and to ask any question related to their professional growth beyond their current position. Communication will be handled between the mentor/mentee, and you will meet according to your needs and schedule. It can be as casual as a phone call every semester, or a coffee meeting once a month!
Depending on the GA, mentors will discuss things such as:
- Networking
- The Job Search process
- Transferrable Skills
- Connections across campus
- Interviewing
- Work/Life Balance
- Financial Management
